Fire Blankets

Fire Blankets (along with Fire Extinguishers and Fire Hose Reels) are often referred to as first attack firefighting equipment. Fire Blankets play an important role in controlling a fire in its earliest development stages, potentially preventing significant property damage, injury or even loss of life. With proper training, building occupants can assess a fire to see whether it is within their capabilities to address and use a fire blanket to safely extinguish a developing fire.

Fire blankets are primarily for use on hot oil fires such as frying pans or deep fat fryers. They can also be used to extinguish clothing that has caught fire. Fire blankets work by smothering the fire, starving it of oxygen and extinguishing the flames.
